About a year and a half ago, I started researching airline, hotel, and bank points and miles programs. Through opening credit cards and regular spending, I accumulated enough points to book business class tickets for my current trip.
I know I could have made my miles go further if I had used the points to fly economy, but where is the fun in that? Also, the miles community has a saying – “Earn and burn.” Airline miles in particular can be devalued at any time if there are changes to the airlines program.
And so my Dad and I thoroughly enjoyed our 11 hour business class Lufthansa flight from San Francisco to Munich. The champagne was beautiful, the lay flat beds were comfortable enough to get a good chunk of sleep, the salmon was amazing, the Bose noise canceling headphones were calming.
